Maccabi SA Launches MTB Social Rides

15 May 2015
On 10 May 2015 Maccabi SA launched the first event of its social Mountain Biking group. The ride took place along the Braamfontein Spruit in the Victory Park area. A great turnout of 20 riders, including seven juniors, were divided into groups according to riding ability.

The advanced group covered approximately 22 kms while the novice group did 16 kms. The participants were really happy to share this enjoyable and safe experience with other community members.

The aim of the club is to host one casual ride per month at different mountain biking venues, initially in Gauteng then growing nationwide. Mountain biking is rapidly growing in popularity and Maccabi SA is ideally poised to add value by providing an opportunity for members of our community of all ages to ride the trails of South Africa together. The cyclists also benefit from safety tips and technical skills that are taught by our marshals on the trail.

Maccabi SA is calling on all members of the community who enjoy cycling to join in the fun. The next event is being held on Sunday 5 July at Modderfontein Reserve. Keep an eye on our Cycling page for upcoming rides.
