Barney, who is 97-years-old, was especially delighted that 97 golfers signed up to participate in this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by Maccabi SA Golf Chairman Daniel Egdes and assisted by Gavin Abro, the event was closely contested with eventual winner Gary Bernstein shooting 67 in the second round, finishing three under par for the tournament ahead of Jonathan Josset and Judd Sundelson who both finished on one under par.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the four divisions were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner A Division \u2013 Gary Bernstein, 3 under par after 2 rounds<\/li>\n<li>Winner B Division \u2013 Thomas Abt, 40 points<\/li>\n<li>Winner C Division \u2013 Tamir Sacks, 37 points<\/li>\n<li>Winner Juniors \u2013 Nathan Kramer, 48 Points<\/li>\n<li>Overall Stableford Winner \u2013 Even Rubin, 42 points<\/li>\n<li>1<sup>st<\/sup> place Alliance &#8211; Sam Hackner, Adam Bernic, Gavin Abro and Brett Copans, 90 points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe tournament was a great success and we were pleased to see so many new faces. We are especially excited that 20 Juniors participated, which bodes well for the future of Maccabi Golf,\u2019\u2019 commented Egdes. \u201cA very big thank you to our headline sponsor Investec for Business, as well as The Pro Shop and the Sunshine Tour for their support\u2019\u2019 added Egdes.<\/p>\n<p>There are plans to hold a further three Maccabi SA Golf tournaments this year in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
